Election Day is almost gone but Stephanie Herseth Sandlin is squeezing every last second out of the day.
Kristi Noem is doing what she pledged to do during her stop in Mitchell Friday night: She is in Volga watching her daughters play in a distict volleyball match.
SHS’s staff offered this update on her day:
“Stephanie started the day in Brookings, she and Max both voted at their polling place Bethel Baptist Church there sort of over by the Hyvee. Then, she and Max made their way around, stopping in Clear Lake, Madison, Salem, Howard and maybe elsewhere. I think she’ll get to Sioux Falls a little later tonight but I’m not sure exactly when.”
Noem voted in her hometown of Hazel, a tiny community in Hamlin County, and stopped by her brother’s farm to drive a tractor and help him with the harvest.
Then she went to Watertown to thank supporters before heading to Volga.
She will then drive to Sioux Falls to join other Republican candidates and party members at their Election Night party.
All the other major candidates, Dennis Daugaard and Scott Heidepriem and John Thune, are in Sioux Falls at their parties’ parties.
